The Opening of CSN/GAMECO PKX Base Maintenance Line

On May 14, 2020, GAMECO held the "The Opening Ceremony of CSN/GAMECO PKX Base Maintenance Line" at CSN Beijing Branch’s hangar #1 located at Beijing Daxing International Airport, marking the CSN/GAMECO PKX base maintenance line being put into operation. Leaders of China Southern Airlines and local government departments, GAMECO management team and employee representatives attended and witnessed the event.
According to the latest production plan, GAMECO PKX A330 letter check line started on May 12 with the 18M check for B-8362, which will be followed by other A330 18M or C checks nose to tail.
GAMECO started the preparation of maintenance capability application of PKX maintenance station at the end of 2018, and it was the first time that GAMECO applied for the maintenance license of “one certificate endorsed by different regional administrations” according to the Advisory Circular of “Maintenance Organizations with Multiple Sites”. GAMECO passed the CAAC audit in early January 2020, which made GAMECO the first 145 organization with base maintenance capability approved by CAAC North China Regional Administration at PKX. In December 2019, GAMECO also obtained EASA line maintenance approval at Daxing, laying the foundation for taking on aircrafts from European customers. On March 3, GAMECO received the FAA approval of Operations Specifications D107, allowing GAMECO to provide line maintenance and minor schedule checks for operators at Daxing.
The No.1 Hangar of CSN Beijing Branch at Beijing Daxing International Airport is the largest hangar in Asia. It can accommodate 2 ea A380, 3 ea B777 and 3 ea narrow-body aircrafts, or 12 ea A320 series narrow-body aircrafts at the same time. The hangar hall is 404.5x100x26 m in size with total area of 39,000 ㎡. In order to make full use of the hangar, support the dual-hub strategy of China Southern Airlines, and solve GAMECO’s short-term slot shortage before the completion of phase III hangar, GAMECO cooperates with China Southern Airlines to jointly build up the scheduled check production line at Daxing.
GAMECO is currently equipped with CAAC A320/A330 capabilities in letter checks of multiple levels, engine exchange and landing gear replacement, EASA B777 / B787 / A330 / A350 line maintenance capabilities, FAA B767/ B777 / B787 / A330 line maintenance capabilities, BCAA B737NG/ B767/ B777 / B787 / A330 / A350 line maintenance capabilities at PKX international airport while the CAAM A330 / A350 line maintenance capabilities are under application. At present, GAMECO is providing line maintenance service for Finnair and Malaysia Airlines at Daxing.
Through establishing a maintenance station at PKX international airport, GAMECO provides an important guarantee for CSN's dual-hub strategy, expands the business scope of third-party line maintenance service, gains more opportunities for international third-party business, and further improves the company's international popularity and reputation.
