Media gathered in GAMECO to witness the work resumption

On February 24, the Information Office of Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government held a special press conference for work resumption in the Guangzhou Airport Economic Zone. Xinhua News Agency, China News Service, Guangdong Satellite TV, Guangzhou Daily and many other media gathered in GAMECO hangar and interviewed the company's top management to understand GAMECO’s situation and measures in ensuring the health and safe work for employees, managing epidemic prevention and control work and safeguarding production resumption.

Norbert Marx said the company insisted on effective production during the epidemic period, guaranteed the safe flights to support China Southern Airlines’ transporting medical teams to Wuhan and made contribution to epidemic prevention. Currently, 18 scheduled check production lines among the total 21 production lines of the company have resumed to normal operation. What’s more, according to the market status quo, GAMECO adjusts its strategies while keeping some key strategic projects, for example, the construction project of its Phase III Hangar resumed on February 18.

 

 

 
According to Li Xin, Deputy General Manager of GAMECO, the company set up an epidemic prevention leading group on January 23 and adopted various measures to ensure safe production resumption such as strengthening the cleaning and disinfection work at work sites, offices and canteens. At the same time, in order to ensure the safe and smooth operation of aircraft maintenance services, the company minimizes manpower arrangement and asks administrative staff to work at home to reduce gathering. Paying great attention to the mental health of employees, the company also assigns a professional team to provide psychological counseling service to employees.

 

"There is a line maintenance team of thousands of mechanics standing by at terminal. We are fully prepared to provide reliable support for flights. I believe that China Southern Airlines and Baiyun Airport will soon recover."

 

 
GAMECO is an important supporter for not only civil aviation transportation but also 2019-nCoV epidemic prevention, which means that GAMECO should maintain operation even when most of the enterprises decide to suspend their production.

 

As of February 20, China Southern Airlines has carried out 15 flights of Guangdong Medical Team, carrying more than 2,000 Guangdong medical personnel and nearly 120 tons of luggage and medical supplies to Hubei, which is inseparable from GAMECO's support of aircraft maintenance.
