The 5G+Smart Aircraft Maintenance Demonstration benchmark to Promote the transformation and upgrade of traditional maintenance business

 

 

On Aug 22nd, 2019, GAMECO signed a General Terms of Agreement for strategic cooperation in 5G and smart aircraft maintenance hangar project with China Telecom Co., Ltd. Guangzhou Branch. Mr. Norbert Marx, GM of GAMECO, and Mr. Li Yongping, Party Secretary and GM of China Telecom Guangzhou Branch attended the agreement signing and unveiling ceremony held at Guangzhou Telecom building.

The 5G network has the characteristics of fast transmission rate, low latency and strong connection, etc. In the 5G network environment, the internet access rate is 10 times of 4G’s while its ultimate rate reaches up to 100 times of 4G’s. The meaning of 5G and smart maintenance upgrading and transformation is far more than this. Giving full play of its strengths in 5G cloud computing, AR Technology, information safety and bid data, China Telecom will help GAMECO realize 5G+AR remote maintenance visualization and intelligent management of aircrafts, materials and vehicles and build up a smart maintenance network covering “human-aircraft-maintenance hangar”.

 

Based on “strong alliance and win-win” principle, GAMECO and China Telecom will jointly promote the construction of “5G Leading Aircraft Smart Maintenance”, conduct researches on application of cloud computing, big data, Internet of things and artificial intelligence based on 5G technology on aircraft maintenance, and facilitate the projects of AR remote maintenance and intelligent management of aircrafts, materials and vehicles, etc. It will help GAMECO accelerate the upgrade of hangar informatization, improve production efficiency, build a leading benchmark for 5G+smart aircraft maintenance in China, and promote the transformation and upgrade of traditional maintenance business.
