Our History

June 1989
The Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade officially approved the proposal of
establishing Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Co., Ltd. (Acronym GAMECO)

 

October 28, 1989
A grand ceremony marked the establishment of Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance
Engineering Co, Ltd.

 

September 1990
Obtained CCAR-145 maintenance certificate and obtained the FAR-145 Repair Station
certificate in October of the same year.

 

November 28, 1990
GAMECO started its formal operation.

 

March 1991
GAMECO completed a D check for Boeing 737 aircraft of Xiamen Airlines, which was the
first D check accomplished in China mainland, ending the history that D check of Boeing 737 aircraft had to be contracted to foreign MROs.

 

April 1992
GAMECO finished a 4C check (12000 flight hours) for Boeing 757 aircraft and it was the
highest level of period checks on this aircraft type in China mainland at that time.

 

May 1993
GAMECO signed off the ten-year overhaul on a S-76 helicopter for China Southern
Airlines, which was its first helicopter overhauled in China mainland.

 

July 1993
GAMECO obtained FAA approval for Boeing 757 aircraft, its equipped engines and
components and became the first MRO in China mainland to have FAA approval for Boeing 737, 757 and 767.

 

April 1994
The first ATE in China mainland was put into use at GAMECO, representing the
maintenance capability of Electronic Shop was upgraded to a new level.

 

September 1994
GAMECO performed its first lease-return check on Boeing 737 aircraft.

 

March 1995
GAMECO reached an agreement with Boeing on component maintenance and became the
first MRO in China mainland appointed by Boeing for overhaul service to components installed on Boeing aircrafts.

 

December 1995
The component shop expansion plan with USD $23 million investment was accomplished.

 

GAMECO became one of the aircraft maintenance companies with one of the highest level of component test, repair and overhaul in the Asia Pacific regions

 

End of 1995
After keen competition, GAMECO finally won the contract, with a value of 3 – 5 million
US dollars, of providing full maintenance service to the two Boeing 757 aircrafts operated by Royal Nepal Airlines. This was the first contract Chinese MRO won for full maintenance service to a foreign operator.

 

December 1995
China’s first Boeing 777, introduced by CSN, arrived at Baiyun International Airport and
GAMECO was contracted to provide all maintenance for this aircraft type for CSN.

 

June 1997
GAMECO started to perform maintenance checks for Airbus 320 aircraft operated by CSN.

 

March 1998
GAMECO obtained JAR-145 Maintenance Organisation Approval certificate.

 

July 1998
GAMECO completed the first C check for Airbus 320 in China mainland.

 

February 2000
GAMECO’s maintenance certificate was upgraded with the additional ratings of line and
base maintenance checks for Airbus A320/321 up to 4C checks, and line maintenance checks for MD-11 series.

 

November 5, 2001
Stone Laying Ceremony for the foundation of the CSN facilities in New Baiyun
International Airport (including GAMECO hangar and other maintenance facilities) was held. Leaders from provincial and municipal government and CAAC attended the ceremony. 


 
October 19, 2002
The Zhengzhou Boeing 737 C check line set up jointly by GAMECO and CSN Henan Branch
through mutual cooperation was put into operation.

 

October 28, 2002
GAMECO Component Business Center (CBC) was established, which marked the start of
GAMECO's development of component repair market with greater effort.

 

End of 2002
One of the shareholders, Lockheed Martin International Aircraft Service Cooperation, sold
out its share of 25% due to the change of its development strategy. Thereafter, shareholders have been China Southern Airlines (CSN) and Hutchison Whampoa (China) Limited, each holds 50% of the shares.

 

October 8, 2003
GAMECO completed its first C-check for Boeing 747 aircrafts.

 

November 20, 2003
GAMECO completed its first Boeing 737 landing gear overhaul and became the second
aircraft maintenance company in China mainland capable of performing landing gear overhaul.

 

June 28, 2004
With CSN’s first ERJ145 Regional Jet aircraft put into operation, GAMECO started to
provide maintenance and repair service for this type of aircraft.

 

June 30, 2004
GAMECO’s new hangar passed the acceptance inspection organized by National
Development and Reform Commission, which marked the satisfactory completion of this complex project.

 

August 5, 2004
GAMECO relocated to the New Baiyun International Airport.

 

September 2005
GAMECO signed a contract with Israel Aircraft Industries, Ltd. (IAI) for the Boeing 737-
300/400 aircraft cargo conversion project.

 

April 2006
GAMECO released a Boeing 747-200F freighter after its D check for Southern Air of the
U.S., which meant a significant step for GAMECO in heavy check of wide body aircraft. June 2006 A Boeing 737-300 passenger aircraft was successfully converted to a freighter and it was the first cargo conversion on this aircraft type in China mainland. The project started in March of the year, and it only took GAMECO 3 months to accomplish it.

 

October 2006
GAMECO signed an agreement with Viva Macau Airlines, who contracted GAMECO to
perform overall maintenance and engineering service to its fleet. This was GAMECO’s first contract of full maintenance and engineering service from a third-party airline.

 

January 1, 2007
GAMECO begun to provide line maintenance and store management for FedEx, the giant
in international logistics, in Subic Bay of Philippines and Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou. The contract term is 9 years.

 

May 31, 2007
The arrival of B-2315 at GAMECO’s hangar signified the start of the first A300-600
Passenger to Freighter project.

 

October 23, 2007
Airbus conducted two A380 demonstration flights in China and A380 performed test in
GAMECO’s hangar and this was its first entrance into a hangar in China mainland.

 

November 24, 2007
GAMECO initiated the development of Safety Management System (SMS). According to
the implementation schedule, the project would go through phases of introduction, research, system design and development, receiving inspection by CAAC, trail run and adjustment and was expected to be officially enacted in August 2008.

 

February 29, 2008
FedEx’s N453FE arrived at GAMECO hangar for B check, the first periodic check GAMECO
performed for FedEx. 
 

March 27, 2008
The A320 C Check Line in Changsha commenced operation. This C Check Line was the
2nd one outside GAMECO’s main base and an outcome of cooperation with CSN subsidiary company.

 

July 2008
GAMECO CBC developed capability for V2500 Engine fuel flow control units overhaul and
became the first one in China mainland to have overhaul capability for the fuel flow control units of CFM56-3, CFM56-5, V2500 and RB211-535.

 

November 28, 2008
The first A300-600 Passenger to Freighter in Asia conducted a test flight and won
success. GAMECO performed the conversion on it.

 

February 6, 2009
FedEx transferred it Asia-Pacific hub from Subic Bay in Philippines to Baiyun International
Airport of Guangzhou, since which GAMECO provided line maintenance and store management for this giant in international logistics. GAMECO’s branch in Subic Bay, Philippines had already provided the same services to FedEx before the transfer.

 

June 2009
GAMECO replaced two entire skins for a Boeing 737CL aircraft operated by CSN. The size
of the replaced skin made a record in China mainland.

 

November, 2009
GAMECO was honored again with the title of “High and New Tech Enterprises” in
Guangdong Province.

 

December 28, 2009
GAMECO became the 2nd MRO in China mainland to obtain the “Designated Modification
Design Organization Representative Approval” from Central & Southern Regional Administration of CAAC, which proved the company’s capability in engineering design and evaluation.

 

February 2010
The ATE model IATS 2000 developed by GAMECO passed the airworthiness audit and put
into operation. The IATS was the first patented equipment of GAMECO and a significant breakthrough in area of self-developed equipments.

 

June 4, 2010
GAMECO signed an agreement with China Aviation Planning and Construction
Development Co., Ltd. (AVIC) for the design and construction of the 2nd hangar.

 

July 30, 2010
GAMECO completed the Premium Class Modification on the entire fleet of CSN in about
half a year. GAMECO designed, obtain certification and performed modification for total 273 aircrafts of 7 different aircraft types: Boeing 777, 737NG, 757, Airbus A319, A320, A321 and A330, operated by CSN, and made about 7000 seats of Premium Class available for passengers.

 

September 2010
Boeing 757 C Check Line in Urumchi, Xinjiang commenced operation.

 

December 21, 2010
GAMECO was granted the MCAR-145 Approval Certificate by CAD, Maldives and it was the
16th approval GAMECO had obtained.

 

April 21, 2011
GAMECO’s maintenance base in Chongqing, the outcome of cooperation with Chongqing
Airlines, started its formal operation. The Chongqing Maintenance Base is GAMECO’s first base in China at a place other than Guangzhou, its headquarter.

 

Sept. 8, 2011
GAMECO held a ground-breaking ceremony for our phase II hangar. The new hangar will
be able to accommodate 8 narrow-body aircrafts (such as the B737/B757/A320 Family) at one time for maintenance checks with a total budgetary investment of about 580 million RMB. While the main project is expected to be completed at the end of 2012, the new hangar will be put into service in the first half of 2013.

 

March 2012
GAMECO was awarded the title of "Top 10 Services Outsourcing Enterprises of
Guangzhou ". The award highlights the outstanding leading role GAMECO plays in services outsourcing, industry scale and application of advance technology and demonstrates an important place in services outsourcing of Guangzhou.

GAMECO Obtained CAMAC Certificate of Civil Aircraft Parts Distributor, which recognizes
GAMECO Material Management System can not only meet internal material demands from GAMECO, but offer independent material services to our customers as well with high airworthiness standards.

GAMECO has accomplished the first update for CSN B777 Aircraft AIMS, achieving a
complete success in software update of Boeing 777 AIMS (Aircraft Information Management System) indication/record system for the first time.

GAMECO was awarded the honor of “AAA Level Enterprise of Harmonious Labor
Relations", a full recognition of Municipal Party Committee, city government and the industry to GAMECO with regard to the harmonious relationship and positive enterprise culture.

GAMECO obtained CCAR-147 basic skills training qualification, a new training
qualification approved to GAMECO.

 

June 2012
GAMECO was selected as "China Best MRO". This honor embodies high recognition of
GAMECO maintenance business.

 

September 2012
GAMECO has awarded CAAC-PMA Certificate issued by CAAC, expanding GAMECO
business to Aviation Components/Parts Manufacturing. GAMECO can make mass production of PMA parts to satisfy refit demands and sell to customers as spare parts.

GAMECO has set up Landing Gear Overhaul Base in Qingyuan, Guangdong province. As
the first high-tech aviation maintenance project located in Qingyuan, it aims at building a first-class domestic landing gear overhaul base to offer one-stop high-quality services to CSN and third-party customers, which will give new dynamic to promote local industry upgrade and economic development.

 

December 2012 
GAMECO in cooperation with Jet Midwest successfully completed the dismantling of a
B767 aircraft at Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou. It was the first time for GAMECO to set foot in such project.

 

December 2012
GAMECO Training Center successfully passed the audit conducted by Civil Aircraft
Maintenance Personnel License Examination Administration and obtained CCAR-66 Civil Aircraft Maintenance Personnel License Examination Site Qualification (No.: ZN.111004), covering written, oral and basic skills exams where will be held in “Guangzhou GAMECO Examination Site”.

GAMECO Obtained CAAC and FAA Approvals of Landing Gear Project, another company
milestone in LDG maintenance after completing B737 LDG overhaul.

GAMECO Received AS9110 International Aviation Quality Management System
Certificate, issued by SAI GLOBAL, an agency authorized by ANAB (a certified committee of the American National Standards Institute and the American Society for Quality), demonstrating that GAMECO has been upgraded to a qualified supplier meeting international standards,

GAMECO Awarded “Best MRO Service Provider” Again on 5th Annual China Commercial
Aircraft Forum 2013. With attendees from global aviation manufacturing and leasing companies,the forum this year focused on modern aviation manufacturing system, aerospace supply chain, promotion of the finance to aviation market and MRO, and Chinese MRO infrastructure.

GAMECO successfully passed CAAC audit and obtain B787 (GEnx) Aircraft CCAR-147
Category II (ATA 104 Level III) Type Training Certificate, becoming the first organization to obtain this training qualification; which will further improve B787 maintenance training abilities of GAMECO.

 

June 25, 2013
GAMECO, MTU and CDB Leasing signed a tripartite agreement about aircraft engine
maintenance, technology consulting and support and training. This is the first joint sales between GAMECO and MTU, and the win-win pattern is good for business development both for GAMECO and MTU.

 

Sept. 25, 2013
GAMECO accomplished first cabin modification on China Southern Airlines B777(777-200),
adopting domestic seats instead of imported ones, the first time for such aircraft type in China.

 

Nov. 4, 2013
GAMECO Announces Authorized Repair Station Agreement with ITT Aerospace Controls
LLC. GAMECO will serve for a number of parts installed on fleet of B737and other platforms such as B757, B767 and B777 to enhance the level of support for airlines in China. GAMECO will also gradually introduce additional products to support the entire ITT portfolio for additional aircraft applications including the B787 and A350.

GAMECO announces PHASE II HANGAR INAUGURATION CEREMONY, with total investment
of ¥ 580M RMB ($ 94M USD) and 8 maintenance bays to accommodate narrow-body aircraft (B737 / B757 and A321 family).

GAMECO Won the First Approval of “One Certificate Multiple Sites” in China, a new model
for MRO Outstation Operation. Under such approval, GAMECO maintenance services can extend to other locations other than Guangzhou city, GAMECO main business site.

Staff representatives from GAMECO GSE Department, on behalf of China Southern,
achieved outstanding performance in China Civil Aviation Ground Equipment Skills Competition. Mr. Lin Xin Bin was awarded the first prize and the title Excellent Youth of China Civil Aviation. He was also nominated for National Labor Medal.

The new Data Center in Phase II hangar was put into use, a significant milestone of
information process for GAMECO and also laying a solid foundation for improvement of information management.

GAMECO GSE Department undertook the first external overhaul for the ground special
equipment – FMC, symbolizing a success of GSE to expand the ground special equipment market.


 

21st-22nd November, 2014
The 6th Annual China Commercial Aircraft Forum 2014 was held successfully in Shanghai,
China. GAMECO was invited to the forum and awarded “Best MRO Service Provider in 2014”. It is the 3rd time for GAMECO to receive the award.

GAMECO celebrated the 25th anniversary in its Phase II Hangar.


November 30, 2014
GAMECO completed the first CFM56-7B thrust reverser overhaul.


In the morning of 8th December, 2014
A groundbreaking ceremony for the new landing gear overhaul facility of GAMECO was
held at its Qingyuan branch in Yingfu Industrial Park, Taiping County, Qingxin District, Qingyuan.


Jan. 2015, PacAvi Group announced in January early this year that it is partnering with
Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Co., Ltd. (GAMECO) for Airbus A320 and A321 passenger-to-freighter conversions in Asia-Pacific region, which has put GAMECO to the position for seizing the critical opportunity of this particular business. Through cooperation with PacAvi, GAMECO expects to set up A320/A321 PTF conversion capabilities, to perform aircraft modification and to provide after-market support for customers in Asia-Pacific region.


May 6, 2015, GAMECO had a groundbreaking ceremony for the Longwan Aircraft Landing
Gear (LDG) overhaul facility in Taiping county, Qingxin district, Qingyuan city. This facility will become a state-of-the-art, one-stop service center for LDG overhaul and repair business and GAMECO is one of very few domestic MROs that have such in-house capabilities.


May 28, 2015, award ceremony of harmonious labor relations enterprise was held in the
auditorium of Huadu district government. Mr. Norbert Marx received the “AAA-level Harmonious Labor Relations Enterprise” (the highest level) on behalf of GAMECO. GAMECO obtained this award in 2012 as the first group of enterprises and manages to keep the honor in the company.


May 22, 2015, world-renowned magazine Aviation Week biennial result of Top 10
Airframe MRO, GAMECO ranks No.6, the first time in the top 10 list. These awards enhance the brand force of GAMECO in international market and attract more third party business.

 

Nov. 10, 2015, The installation and debugging for 5 automatic containers symbolizes a substantial step of GAMECO material management from manual picking to automatic operation. GAMECO Material Department is entering the new era of automatic management.


Dec. 2015, GAMECO CBC Fuel Shop has achieved a milestone of completing 300 FMUs
repair. GAMECO is the only domestic MRO with FMU repair capacity.


Dec. 2015, Recently HM 2 Structure Shop has completed Iridium communication
modification on CSN’s Aircraft B-5283 and B-6195, which is the first time for the Shop to perform communication modification on B737NG and A320.


Dec. 2015, After two-year’s efforts, Component Business Center (CBC) has successfully
developed A320 condenser overhaul capacity, which has already been put into use and also won the first prize in Scientific and Technological Projects at GAMECO. CBC shops will continue developing heat exchanger overhaul capacity for other aircraft types and models.


On Jan. 29th, 2016, a cozy little ceremony was hold in the Guangzhou hangars of
GAMECO, to recognize its performance of the 100th C-checks on a FedEx aircraft. At the same time the re-delivery of N722FD to FedEx marks also the first time that GAMECO reaches this milestone of 100 C-Checks for a single customer other than China Southern Airlines.


On March 29th, 2016, GAMECO celebrated the establishment of Qing Yuan Branch and
the inauguration of Ying Fu Facilities in Ying Fu Industry Park in Qing Xin District, Qing Yuan City.


On April 27th, 2016, the ATEC-6 RFEM tester with containing RFEM (RF Expansion
Module) has been successfully settled at GAMECO CBC, the first work shop in China to have this world-class comprehensive test stand.  ATEC-6 RFEM, the most advanced aviation automatic detection equipment in the world, it provides a strong support for CBC Radio Workshop to develop new capability for new aircraft types in future.


On May 18th,  2016, GAMECO Qingyuan Branch-Yingfu Facility has obtained the
operation approvals from CAAC and FAA after their strict audits, representing the start of actual operation of GAMECO’s new strategic fulcrum- Boeing and Airbus Aircraft Landing Gear Overhaul Centre.


On the early morning of Sep 9th 2016, HL7594 of Asiana Airlines was ferried from Canton
to Korea as schedule, which means GAMECO accomplished the world’s first ESG MOD work for the aging A320. HL7594 was chosen as overseas aircraft maintenance audit subject by Korean authority, to establish a benchmark for all other Korean airlines company. During this check, GAMECO received two onsite audit by KCAB (South Korea's civil aviation administration) and was well-reputed. This will greatly help GAMECO to gain more business from Korea.

 

On Sept. 28th, 2016, GAMECO Component Business Center (CBC) received  four patent authorizations issued by the State Intellectual Property Office , including " Automatic cleaning equipment for civil aircraft kitchen water boiler " access to the national invention patent authorization, patent valid for 20 years; " A disassembly device for aircraft fuel bushing "," A detecting and recording platform for aircraft parts " and " an aircraft fuel valve actuator test box ",they all acquired national utility model patents issued.


On Nov. 2nd, 2016 GAMECO Announces Contract with Uni-Top Airlines. The new contract
covers GAMECO providing base maintenance, engineering service, material support and component repair for Uni-Top Airlines’ fleet of A300F aircraft.

 
On Nov. 2nd, 2016, Airbus endorsed GAMECO as "A380 Center of Excellence in China", in
recognition of the outstanding MRO work performed by GAMECO on the China Southern A380 fleet. GAMECO has the only complete A380 docking system in operation in China.


Feb. 14th, 2017
GAMECO has hold CSN/GAMECO C Check Cooperation Opening ceremony in CSN
Shenzhen branch, which means GAMECO has reached to a new stage on wide body aircraft heavy maintenance especially aircraft maintenance at locations other than main facility.


March 4th, 2017
as the MRO for China Airlines in Guangzhou, GAMECO became the first MRO to offer line
maintenance services for A350 in Guangzhou.


Jun. 2nd, 2017
China Southern Airlines (CSA) B-6016, the first A380 with 6-Year check, was redelivered
for service with a bright new look of the cabin and airframe after heavy maintenance and repainting, also symbolizing GAMECO’s milestone of the first A380 6-Year Check in China.


May, 2017
GAMECO has been selected to perform B737-700, -400 and -300 P-to-F conversions in
the Asia-Pacific region for PEMCO World Air Services (PEMCO), a wholly owned subsidiary of Air Transport Services Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:ATSG).


Oct. 2017
GAMECO Component Business Center (CBC) continuously puts efforts in technological
innovation in 2017 and has applied for 83 patents, 79 of which have been approved. Besides, approval for invention patents have been significantly increased to 20 items, taking up 26% of total applications approved.


Nov. 2017
GAMECO CBC Emergency Shop has recently received the invention patent certificate
issued by the State Intellectual Property Office for the self-developed Ultrasonic Steam Cleaner for Oxygen Components.


Dec. 2017
GAMECO HM1 & HM2 Dept. successfully removed the main landing gear  of the A330 B-
5939 Aircraft with a new set of R/I tools and methods,, marking GAMECO’s innovation of a new main landing gear removal method other than that in AMM (Aircraft Maintenance Manual).

Dec. 13, 2017
Mr. Alan Doherty, Vice President of SAFRAN, and Mr. Lutz Wierschin, General Manager of
TALSCO, accompanied by Mr. Norbert Marx, GAMECO GM, and Mr. Clemens Ziegler, Director Component Business Development, visited GAMECO Qingyuan Branch and joined the first China Landing Gear Summit.


Dec. 15, 2017
GAMECO held a door cutting ceremony with PEMCO, a world-renowned aircraft retrofit
company. Reaching this milestone is an example for continuous development of maintenance capabilities and worldwide cooperation of GAMECO.


On 1st Jan., 2018, combined with 6-year check, GAMECO has accomplished the largest
core network platform (NSS\OIS) upgrade. Meantime, GAMCO will complete the platform upgrade for all 5 CSN’s A380 before July 1st, 2018.

 

On 1st March, 2018, we have released our first aircraft in Auckland Airport, which marks the official opening of GAMECO New Zealand Branch.


On 25th April, 2018, GAMECO signed a cooperation agreement with Guangzhou Airport
Economic Zone at China Southern Airlines Pearl Hotel on aircraft component repair center project. According to the plan, the component repair center project will start construction

in 2019 and be put into production in 2022. It is estimated that the annual output will reach 1 billion RMB after five years of production.


On 11th December, 2018, GAMECO has successfully re-delivered an A380 to Lufthansa
after performing a C4 check plus exterior painting, which was the first time for GAMECO to provide A380 heavy maintenance service for a third party customer.

 

On February 25, 2019, the first set of B737NG landing gears overhauled in house in Longwan facilities of GAMECO Qingyuan Branch was delivered.

 


On 3rd Apr., 2019, the new facilities of GAMECO Parts Manufacturing Center (PMC) were
officially put into operation. Specializing in developing and manufacturing of aircraft parts, the new site covers an area of nearly 6,000 square meters with appropriate layout. At present, PMC has obtained the manufacture qualification of more than 10,000 parts, including cabin parts, cargo parts, airframe structure parts and mod. parts, which cover CNC machining parts, sheet metal parts, injection molded parts, composite parts, leather fabric, placards, electronic parts and cables, etc.


On Apr 10th 2019, in Atlanta, USA, GAMECO signed a services agreement with Boeing Global Services and was recognized as Boeing’s maintenance service supplier in Asian-Pacific region. Meanwhile, Boeing will provide training, maintenance data interface and technical support to GAMECO.

 

On 23rd May, 2019, GAMECO hosted the groundbreaking event for the Phase III Hangar and construction will last till December 2021. After completion of Phase III Hangar, GAMECO’s slots will increase from the currently 20 heavy maintenance lines to up to 30 production lines.
 

On 22 July, 2019, GAMECO obtained the Production Organization Approval (POA) issued by EASA, which marked that GAMECO's production and manufacturing system reached the international level and laid the foundation for further expansion of the aircraft modification and parts manufacturing market.

 

On Aug 22nd, 2019, GAMECO signed a General Terms of Agreement for strategic cooperation in 5G and smart aircraft maintenance hangar project with China Telecom Co., Ltd. Guangzhou Branch.GAMECO and China Telecom will jointly promote the construction of “5G Leading Aircraft Smart Maintenance”, conduct researches on application of cloud computing, big data, Internet of things and artificial intelligence based on 5G technology on aircraft maintenance, and facilitate the projects of AR remote maintenance and intelligent management of aircrafts, materials and vehicles, etc. It will help GAMECO accelerate the upgrade of hangar informatization, improve production efficiency, build a leading benchmark for 5G+smart aircraft maintenance in China, and promote the transformation and upgrade of traditional maintenance business.


On September 25, 2019, at the 13th MRO China Summit 2019, GAMECO successfully won
Maintenance Service Award of the 2nd MRO China Red Crown Award. The Maintenance Service Award reflects the industry’s high recognition for GAMECO’s maintenance station quantity, maintenance capabilities, service efficiency and maintenance quality.

 

On September 25, 2019, GAMECO received the Global Top 10 Airframe MRO award at MRO Asia-Pacific Exhibition in Singapore.Winning the Top 10 MRO title, once again confirming the industry’s recognition of GAMECO’s maintenance capabilities. This will help to further enhance the international reputation of GAMECO. 

 

GAMECO has successfully passed the audit in late August and granted with the NADCAP(National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program)accreditation for NDT penetrant and magnetic particle inspection by the Performance Review Institute (PRI) on 1 October 2019, which is a milestone symbolizing that GAMECO NDT technology has achieved the international standard and will provide state-of-art service to support the aircraft maintenance and parts manufacturing business.

 

On October 28th, Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Co., LTD. (GAMECO) celebrated its 30th anniversary in a spectacular ceremony.As a leading enterprise in aircraft maintenance industry GAMECO has contributed significantly to the Guangzhou airport economic zone. It has achieved rapid development with an average annual growth rate of more than 10% over the last ten years. It has made a very important contribution to the promotion of personnel employment, tax creation, technological innovation and industrial development in Guangzhou airport economic zone.GAMECO’s new 100.000 m2 phase III hangar project has started construction in May this year and will be completed and put into production by the end of 2021. Also a 38.000 m2 component repair base project and a 16.000 m2 composite material maintenance center will break ground early next year and is expected to go into production end of 2021.

 

October 28, 2019 — Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Company Limited (GAMECO) and Boeing announced plans to launch a 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter production line at GAMECO’s Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport hangar, as the 737-800BCF program responds to growing demand. The project adds new business growth points for GAMECO and further expands the third-party business market of GAMECO.

 

 

On January 9, 2020, GAMECO Qingyuan Branch (the stand-alone landing gear maintenance center of GAMECO) completed the first in-house overhaul of a Boeing B777landing gear set. In a short ceremony the landing gear set was delivered back to the airline customer China Southern Airlines (CSN) and lease owner China AviationSupplies Co., Ltd (CASC).This delivery also marks an important addition to the GAMECO Qingyuan product portfolio, which now includes A320 family and B737 narrowbody aircraft and A330 and B777 wide-body aircraft landing gears. It makes GAMECO one of the largest and most comprehensive landing gear overhaul facilities in Chinaand the APAC region.

 

On January 22, 2020, test flight of Lufthansa A380 aircraft (Reg. number: D-AIMK) was smoothly conducted, marking the successful completion of the first IL check and painting work performed by GAMECO for Lufthansa A380 aircraft.

 

On March 5, 2020, GAMECO Successfully Obtained the FAA Approval at Beijing Daxing Station.

 

On May 14, 2020, GAMECO held the "The Opening Ceremony of CSN/GAMECO PKX Base Maintenance Line" at CSN Beijing Branch’s hangar #1 located at Beijing Daxing International Airport, marking the CSN/GAMECO PKX base maintenance line being put into operation.

 

On June 16, 2020, GAMECO celebrated the launch of its 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) program at its Guangzhou base, holding a door-cutting ceremony of its first 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF), which commenced the production phase of the program. It’s not only a milestone of the program, but also a new chapter of cooperation between Boeing and GAMECO.

 

On June 24, 2020, GAMECO celebrated the groundbreaking of its CBC (Component Business Center) and CRC (Composite Repair Center). With a total investment of about 600 million yuan, the two facilities are expected to go into operation in early 2022. The new state-of-the-art CBC and CRC with its tremendous capabilities will fundamentally resolve any restriction to development caused by today’s aging workshops. It will greatly support the component and composite repair demands of the growing China Southern Airlines’ fleet and offer high value for third party’s customers from China and abroad.

 

On September 20, 2020, the steel structure of GAMECO Phase III Hangar was successfully lifted to top, marking the project entering into a new construction stage. GAMECO Phase III hangar ranks No.3 for its wide span in China.

 

On October 13, 2020, GAMECO and SF Airlines Co., Ltd signed the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement on aircraft overhaul, line maintenance, component repair, engineering services, technical training and parts manufacturing etc. in Shenzhen.  This is the first time for both parties to sign a framework agreement for comprehensive cooperation, which is conducive to further deepening the cooperation between the two companies, and will play a positive role in promoting the future business development of both sides.

 

On October 28-29, 2020, the 14th MRO China Summit was held in Xiamen with the theme of "Together in the Same Boat and Welcoming the New Year". GAMECO won the Annual MRO Award of the third MRO China Red Crown Award, which is GAMECO's second Red Crown Award after winning the "Maintenance Service Award" of MRO China Red Crown Award in 2019.

 

On Nov. 9, 2020, GAMECO announced the completion of the first 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) at GAMECO’s Guangzhou facility. The conversion was completed on Oct. 15, several days ahead of schedule, and comes roughly four months after GAMECO launched its BCF conversion program in June.

 

On December 19th, 2020, Shenzhen Airport Company Ltd. signed strategic partnership MOU with Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Company (GAMECO), to jointly provide high quality maintenance and ground services for domestic and overseas airlines operating at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, with principles of advantages from parties, win-win partnership, and joint development. 

 

Feb. 9, 2021, GAMECO announced the addition of a third conversion line for the 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter(BCF) at its Guangzhou facility. With the addition of the third line, GAMECO also will take steps to implement a new takted production system. 

 

On April 12, 2021, the redelivery of the A320 landing gear to Sichuan Airlines marked the success of the first cooperation between GAMECO and Sichuan Airlines in landing gear overhaul.

 

On April 26, 2021, a delivery ceremony was held at GAMECO to celebrate the first 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) completed for BOCOMM Leasing and China Postal Airlines. It also marked the first time that GAMECO has completed freighter conversion work for a 737-800 airplane registered under CAAC.

 

On Sept. 28, 2021, GAMECO and Boeing today announced plans to create additional capacity for the 767-300 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) to help meet continued strong market demand.  The agreement, revealed by the two companies during a signing ceremony at the China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai, will expand freighter conversion capacity at GAMECO, opening two new 767300BCF conversion lines next year. GAMECO will be first MRO to convert both the 737-800BCF and 767-300BCF. 

 

On December 6, 2021, GAMECO Qingyuan Branch successfully obtained NADCAP chemical processing certificates for 12 processes including cadmium plating, chromium plating and laboratory testing related to chemical processing. Obtaining NADCAP certificates mean that the chemical treatment process of GAMECO Qingyuan Branch has successfully passed the supplier qualification audit of members of the NADCAP community (Airbus, Boeing, GE, etc.) and become their potential supplier.

 

On December 9-10, 2021, the 15th China Aviation Maintenance Summit (MRO China) was held in Xiamen. At this summit, GAMECO was granted “MRO of the Year”, which is the second time that GAMECO won this award since 2020.

 

On December 21st, 2021, a CSN A380 and a B747 was towed into GAMECO Phase III hangar, marking the on-time completion of the strategic expansion project. With the completion of Phase III hangar, the capacity of GAMECO will increase from 20 heavy maintenance production lines to 31, effectively alleviating the shortage of wide-body slots. This way GAMECO can offer more space and achieve more flexible slot planning for base maintenance to its customers and better support cargo conversion business.

 

On February 7th,2022, three Boeing 737NG BCF aircrafts were towed into GAMECO Phase III Hangar, marking the official launch of GAMECO Hangar III.

 

On March 8, 2022, China Southern Airlines Group Co., LTD announced the Personnel Appointment Notice of Mr.Gan Yongjun in GAMECO: Mr.Gan Yongjun was appointed as  Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of GAMECO .
